<rant>
so. party saturday night. i'm not saying 'sheisse' bout it, lest i can get the exact wording on the terms of my exchange. don't want to get sent home over a technicality, i'd much rather stay via a loophole, such as not reporting anything. all i will say is people recognize me from the party.
from my memory, the policy states:
i may not drink unless presented by a host AND as a part of a cultural activity.
oxford dictionary defines a host as someone who entertains people as guests, someone, someplace or some organization which holds an event, or a presenter of a television or radio program. by this accepted definition of host, anyone could be considered as a host, yet most of all my exchange partner who is my legit host and who is graciously keeping me in his home. He is my host and as such no penalty is legitimate for the drink placed into my hand from his.
as for a cultural activity, i bet if you Google beer, you get mostly Germany. If you Google drinking (racist comment) you get Germany and Russia. DRINKING IS PART OF THE CULTURE HERE! there is no drinking here that is not includable (??) as a cultural activity, and as i am here to fully learn and experience the German culture, (incidentally including drinking) it is wrong and hypocritical to deny me drinking privileges.
i think i win, unless memory deceives me.
we also did not go drinking tonight after eating supper with Björn's Biology class.
</rant>
not sure why, but Björn's Biology class (the whole class) went out for pizza and i was invited. it was cool. pizza was good. however, don't you just hate being one of those people standing there awkwardly while everyone else realizes not enough chairs were reserved? people squished in for six people tonight. the plates were massive of course, containing an entire pizza each. we also then lacked in table room. it was all good though.
random story from last week: (forgot to mention this and was going to) in French class on Thursday, my first french class with mostly new people. trying to make a good impression. some 'arschloch' from the previous block had spilled coffee on my desk and a girl's desk next to me. Me, trying to put a good foot forward and be a gentleman, pulled out my brand new packet of napkins, and then spent the next two minutes trying in vain to open it under minute scrutiny of my peers. undermined once again by my lack of dexterity. was cool though, i love that class. My french is coming back to me, and just today i wrote a full exam on it. think i did pretty good. still though, my French is coming back in Germany. i'm getting mixed up in my grammar, thinking in German, writing in French, and talking some mixture of all three. good times... :)
a note on the french thing: thinking i like french music at the moment, any good artists/songs, please leave a comment!
sunday: went to a language museum today, where we examined the life of some important language guy who wrote the original German dictionary. can't remember his name. sorry dude, cool museum, not a memorable name. something with a 'k'. we looked at braille, the evolution of technology, prefixes, suffixes, root words, etc. bit boring in some parts, but fun in many more.
much minecraft.
got the end of my schedule today, my German class. ON A GODDAMNED FRIDAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY! I HAD THE DAY OFF AND IT IS RUINED FOR A CLASS WITH THE GRADE 8'S AND/OR 9'S! by the way, i'm with the juniors for German class. they are complete 'depp's. (no, these words will not translate...) furthermore, our teacher is a first year teacher with no idea how to handle children. i think they should implement the wooden meter stick, with a twist. swap it out for a whip. then, kid isn't paying attention, he will be momentarily. no time to shape up while the teacher arrives with the stick. WHAP! whip in the side of the head. problem solved.
fire drill today. really, really quiet fire bells...
well, that's all for now, but the next few days sem promising. not sure why, but i think i'll have much to tell about. as always, leave a comment, even though nobody does.
family - love you guys.
other readers - love you guys, thanks for reading. :p
bis später!
